About

This spring I’m doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.  I’ll be going to the West Bank to visit with women and midwives.  Midwife comes from the middle english mit (with) wif (woman) and means, literally, “with woman.” The role of the midwife can be thought of as accompanying someone on their journey, an act of solidarity. That is what I hope to do.  This blog is also a way in which you can be with me, a woman, on my travels.

My plan is to blog a diary entry every day that I have internet access and energy. I don’t promise to blog every day, and I may be defeated simply by my own technophobia, tiredness and lack of time.  So, not to worry if the blog is more occasional than I intend at the outset.
